The aims of research and development at HIAST are defined as the following:

 Contributing to the development of technological environment locally and nationally.

Improving the researchers’ and teaching staff’s knowledge and abilities and keeping them in contact with scientific and technological development in the world.

Preserving the high scientific level of HIAST and enhancing it in the local research field.

Contributing to refresh and encourage local industry, meet its needs, help it and introduce new techniques.
