Research Laboratories

The organizational structure at HIAST allows the establishment of independent labs specialized in technological research and development in specific areas. A specialized cadre works in these labs which contain complementary sub-labs. Since its start, HIAST has environmental-studies lab which is considered one of the pioneering labs in Syria in this field. A team of researchers, specialists and technicians specialized in the domain of environmental studies and pollution in all forms work in this lab.

Environmental studies laboratory

Periodical environment survey studies in specific sites in Syria in response to some demands and contracts signed by different Syrian organizations are conducted in this lab. Moreover, it takes special research initiatives and prepares technical studies to show to bodies in charge of applying the environmental code in Syria. The lab works in line with Environmental Studies Centre, Environment and Local Administration Ministry, Housing Ministry and other bodies in Syria. Here are some of its important labs:

  • Labs for measuring air and water pollution and others for the treatment of water and refuse
  • Labs for measuring pollutants in the work-place and for measuring industrial emissions.
  • In addition to the workshop responsible for the treatment of water and disposals. There is also a group to estimate the environmental impact and the danger imposed by the industrial projects.

مخبر الدراسات البيئية

تأسّس مخبر الدراسات البيئية في بداية الثمانينيات من القرن الماضي في المعهد العالي للعلوم التطبيقية والتكنولوجيا في دمشق ، استجابةً للحاجة المتنامية آنذاك إلى مخبر وطني متطور قادر على تنفيذ البحوث والتحاليل البيئية، إضافةً لتقديم النصح والمشورة العلمية للجهات الوطنية المختلفة في القضايا البيئية، خاصة تلك المتعلقة بتلوث المياه والهواء والتربة والبيئة البحرية في سوريا.

يقّدم المخبر العديد من الخدمات، ويقوم كذلك ببحوث ودراسات مختلفة، لصالح المؤسسات والمخابر في القطاعين العام والخاص، لما فيه مصلحة المجتمع عموماً .

إن الخبرة الجيدة والدّقة التحليلية والخدمة المتميّزة تشكّل الأساس للسمعة الجيدة للمخبر وعلاقاته القوية، ليس فقط مع المؤسسات الوطنية، بل والعالمية أيضاً.

يمكن تلخيص أهداف مخبر الدراسات البيئية بما يلي:

  • تحسين الشروط البيئية والصحيّة في سوريا.
  • تقديم خدمات التحليل للمؤسسات والمخابر في القطاعين العام والخاص.
  • تنفيذ الدراسات والبحوث ذات الصلة بالبيئة.

يعدّ مخبر الدراسات البيئية أول مخبر اختبار في سوريا تم اعتماده من جهة دولية معروفة، وفقاً لمتطلبات المواصفة القياسية الدولية ISO 17025 الخاصة بكفاءة مخابر الاختبار والمعايرة، وذلك من خلال المشروع السوري – الألماني "تعزيز البنية التحتية للجودة في سوريا".   حول اعتماد المخبر

يشارك المخبر منذ تأسيسه في برامج المقارنات البينية واختبارات الكفاءة الوطنية والدولية ، التي تساهم في تحديد ارتياب القياس، وحدود الكشف، وحدود الثقة، ...، الخ.
