Informatics Department
This department includes highly qualified researchers, engineers and technicians.
Informatics department carries out many research and development works in addition to software projects for the benefit of public and private sectors like ministries, banks hospitals and others, in addition to participating in some European cooperation projects.
The department participates through its cadres in the educational process at HIAST in:
- Informatics engineering majors at HIAST(Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, and Networks Engineering and Operating Systems). On the other hand, the department supports the rest of the departments in teaching subjects that are related to informatics.
- Master programs at HIAST especially the Master's of informatics (Information and Decision Support Systems, Big Data Systems).
- Some faculties in Syrian universities through cooperation agreements that are held between HIAST and these universities.
The work axes of the department can be summarized as the following:
- Specialized database systems.
- Software engineering and its applications.
- Computer processing of the Arabic language.
